Unicuspid Aortic Valve

A 33 years old man, was referred to our hospital for dilated aortic root and aortic valve insufficiency. The patient underwent a Bentall DeBono operation. The presence of a unicuspid aortic valve, showed at preoperative echocardiography, was confirmed. The single commissure had fibro-calcific degeneration, with an eccentric opening (Figure 1
).
